St Adolf Ishongororo Catholic Parish Church is located in Ibanda.
It started in 2004 being curved from Our Lady of Mercy Parish, Ibanda. It was pioneered by Rev Fr Godfrey Bataringaya of the Apostles of Jesus, who's still the Parish Priest.
This parish is well known for her strong faith and in it's early ages it has produced two priests, Rev Fr. Peter Arinaitwe (the Assistant Financial Administrator Mbarara Archdiocese) and Rev Fr. Ignitius Nimwesiga.
It has also produced eight professed religious both men and women in different congregations. By 2014 parish census, the parish had a total number of 35,000 Catholics, 18 primary schools and 04 secondary schools and 09 church schools. It had a total number 152 small Christian communities, 46 out stations. People here engage in agriculture and business. It has also given birth to a new parish called Christ the King Rwenkobwa with a resident priest, Rev Fr. Eleutherius Ngirabakunzi as a pioneering priest.
It's worth to note that all the developments including the construction of the new church building have been sponsored by the Christians themselves 100% without any funding from outside. We pray that Mother Mary continues interceding for the faith of the people here to continue growing.
